Information regarding an opinion from Open Arts Foundation and a letter dated 13.03.2018 to Ivan Totev, Mayor of Plovdiv; Mr. Alexander Durjikov, Deputy Mayor of Culture and Tourism in Plovdiv Municipality; Kiril Velchev, Executive Director of  MF “Plovdiv 2019″; Ms. Savina Petkova, Chairman of the Municipal Council – Plovdiv

On March 12, 2018, Open Arts Foundation, the organizer of the NIGHT / Plovdiv, issued an official statement in connection with an official statement by Mayor Ivan Totev at a press conference in Plovdiv on 12.03.2018, which created a further turmoil in the organization of the cultural festival for 2018.
The statement was published in the media and was entered as an extended letter dated March 13, 2018 to the relevant administrative bodies with the request to obtain a formally agreed opinion from the Mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Plovdiv Municipality and Municipal Foundation “Plovdiv 2019″ in connection to the intent towards NIGHT / Plovdiv and the work of the organizer – Open Arts Foundation – in preparation of the event.

On this request, Open Arts Foundation received the following official responses to your attention:

An official response from Mayor Ivan Totev in connection with his statement and intentions was not received, but on his part a statement was made to the media about the case:

“Sarieva will make “Night / Plovdiv “, but she has to mix a cake for a coffee with the mayor”

Based on these responses and the course of its current program, Open Arts Foundation will come up with a statement on the NIGHT / Plovdiv project in early April 2018.
