Night/Plovidv 2015

In 2015 the emblematic Festival Night/Plovdiv was held for the 11th time. Even the bad weather couldn’t stop the good mood and the huge audience, which this year was about 50 000 people for the two nights of the event. The program included dozens of museums, galleries, libraries, community centers and clubs in the city with over 100 events at 72 locations. Since its beginning the Night is constantly expanding and developing. Every year we find new approaches toward the general and professional audiences from all over the country. Some of the novelties in Night/Plovdiv 2015 included: an architectural competition and implementation of “green” info point, a mobile application for the festival, a special curatorial program focusing on contemporary art, a special font designed for the festival, a movie for the Night, organized tours at key locations during the event and more. The festival participated in the first in the country economic study on the impact of the cultural event on the city. We will soon tell you more about the incredible results. More on Night/Plovdiv can be found on the officialwebsite of the event or on Open Arts Foundation’s page.

Open Arts Foundation 2015 in numbers and facts

In 2015 we supported more than 60 artistic projects35 of which are financed by the  Special Projects Fund of Night/Plovdiv.
We had the pleasure to meet and work with over 80 volunteers and 10 interns for our various projects.

We were able to organize and implement, with the support of partners and experts, an architectural competition for a “green” info point of the Night.

For a year, we signed 90 contracts with business companies, cultural organizations, institutions, artists, professionals in the field of art from Bulgaria and abroad.

We measured, thanks to our partners from Bauersachs Foundation, Industry Watch Group Ltd and the Department of Applied and institutional sociology in Plovdiv University, the economic effect of the Nighton the town, which conservative estimate return on the investment for the city is about 300 %.

We counted over 450 media coverage of our events in regional, national and international media.

We worked in a partnership network with more than 50 leading organizations from the NGO sector, private sector, national and international institutions, media.

Diligently we recorded and shared with you 40 videos with important and valuable footage of our initiatives (see them here and here).

We have a new team member – Stefka Tsaneva who coordinates our projects in the field of contemporary art.

We implemented successful projects in Plovidv, Sofia and abroad, contributing to the popularization of the Bulgarian Contemporary Art.
