The program of the Eighth Night of Museums and Galleries - Plovdiv involves over 50 museums, galleries, art spaces, clubs, bookstores, cultural institutes, studios, concert and theater halls, historical and archaeological monuments and more. The events specially produced by the Night for 2012 are over 100.
For the past eight years “Night of Museums and Galleries – Plovdiv” has been visited by 160 000 people and has established itself as one of the country’s most emblematic cultural events with a wide cutlural programme, young audience, positive emotional charge and organization.
In 2012 the Night of Museums and Galleries the programme “Museums and galleries” presents 23 private and regional museums and galleries with their permanent expositions and exhibitions produced especially for the festival. In the “Culture and club” programme took part 18 projects by cultural institutions, bookshops, informal art spaces and clubs, while the platform “City and public spaces” presented the climax of the festival “Rituals of the habitual” with 10 international projects curated by Vera Mlechevska which was spread around the entire town. All three programmes were open on Friday from 19:00 till one o’clock in the morning.
The team of the Night of Museums and Galleries – Plovdiv blog - night.bg/blog – published daily articles about the programme, the participants, interviews with the artists, friends of the festival, pictures as well as other information for the guests of the city. The visitors were able to see the programme on www.night.bg, and also in the special map and guide-book which was distributed for free in Plovdiv and Sofia.
For the eighth NIGHT/Plovdiv a new vision and logo have been developed by Studio Punkt based on the eight "8" as "O" in Night and Plovdiv and the sound "eight" in "night".
